How to Use Your VertiClear Pro
Everything you need to know to get the most out of your device, in about 5 minutes.
What's in the Box
EMS Conductivity Gel
Included in every order — required for best results
First-Time Setup
Your VertiClear Pro comes with a partial charge, but we recommend a full charge before your first session for the best experience.
Charge Your Device
Plug the included USB cable into the charging port on the device. Connect the other end to any USB power source — a phone charger, laptop, or power bank all work.
First charge time: 3–5 hours. After that, a full charge lasts approximately one month with daily 15-minute sessions.
Wait until charging is complete, then unplug before your session.
Prep Your Neck (Don't Skip This)
The EMS pulses need conductivity to travel through your skin properly. Skipping this step is the #1 reason people don't feel the device working — or experience discomfort when they do.
Clear your neck
Pull back any hair and remove necklaces or jewelry from the back of your neck. Anything between the pads and your skin will block the signal.
Apply VertiClear EMS Conductivity Gel to each pad
Squeeze a small amount of the included VertiClear EMS Conductivity Gel onto each of the four stainless steel pads. You don't need much — a pea-sized amount per pad is enough. The gel creates a conductive layer that lets the EMS pulses travel through your skin cleanly, comfortably, and at full strength.
Apply the gel directly to the pads only, right before placing the device. There's no need to apply it across your entire neck.
We used to recommend moisturizer or aloe gel as a substitute. The conductivity gel works significantly better — it's specifically formulated to maximize EMS pulse transmission, which means stronger results and less chance of skin irritation. Keep the tube next to your device so it's always within reach before a session.
Your First Session
Place the device on your neck
Open the arms of the device and place it around the back of your neck, like a U-shaped collar. The four stainless steel pads should sit directly against your skin — two behind your ears and two at the base of your skull. Make sure they're making firm, full contact.
Power on
Long press the power button for 2 seconds. You'll hear a voice confirmation that it's turned on. The device automatically starts in Automatic mode at the lowest intensity (Gear 1), with the heat feature turned on.
Adjust the intensity
Press the + button to increase intensity one level at a time. Start low and work your way up gradually until you feel a comfortable tingling sensation. There are 16 intensity levels — the device will announce each one. For your first time, stay between Gear 1–5.
Relax for 15 minutes
Sit back, close your eyes if it helps, and let the device do its work. Each session runs for 15 minutes. The device will beep and announce when the session is complete.
Power off
Long press the power button for 2 seconds to turn off, or it will automatically power down after the session ends. Remove the device, and you're done.
We recommend one session per day for the best results. You can use it up to 4 times daily (one hour total), but once a day is all most people need.
Understanding the Controls
| Button | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Power Button | Long press (2 sec) to turn on or off. Short press to cycle through massage modes. |
| + Button | Short press to increase EMS intensity by one gear (16 levels total). Long press (2 sec) to toggle heat on or off. |
| – Button | Short press to decrease EMS intensity by one gear. |
The 6 Massage Modes
Short press the power button to cycle through modes. The device will announce each one:
| Mode | What It Feels Like |
|---|---|
| Automatic | Cycles through different patterns automatically. Best for beginners — start here. |
| Acupuncture | Rhythmic, targeted pulses that mimic acupressure points. Good for tension relief. |
| Massage | Smooth, rolling sensation across the pads. Relaxing and gentle. |
| Finger Pressing | Deeper, press-and-hold pulses. Similar to a thumb pressing into tight muscles. |
| Kneading | Alternating pressure that mimics a kneading massage. Great for stiff necks. |
| Hammering | Quick, tapping pulses. More stimulating. Good for waking up sore muscles. |
Start with Automatic mode for your first few sessions. Once you're comfortable, many of our customers prefer Kneading or Massage mode for the most soothing experience during vertigo episodes.
Heat Therapy
The heat feature turns on automatically when you power the device on. It provides gentle warmth to relax your neck muscles and improve blood flow.
To toggle heat off: Press and hold the + button for 2 seconds. Press and hold again to turn it back on.
We recommend keeping the heat on for best results, especially during colder months or if you carry tension in your neck.
Voice Announcements
Your VertiClear Pro speaks to you. It will announce the current intensity level ("Gear 1," "Gear 2," etc.), the mode you've selected, and when the session is complete. This is normal and helps you keep track without having to look at the device.
If the voice announcements are difficult to understand, refer to the controls table above — every button press follows the exact sequence shown there.
Tips for Best Results
Use it every day
Consistency is key. One 15-minute session per day helps keep your cervical-vestibular nerve pathways calm and your neck muscles relaxed. Think of it like brushing your teeth for your neck — a daily habit that prevents problems before they start.
Start low, go slow
Begin at Gear 1–3 for your first few sessions. Your neck needs time to adjust to the EMS pulses. Gradually increase as you get more comfortable. If it ever feels too intense, lower the gear — there's no benefit to pushing through discomfort.
Use it at the first sign of symptoms
Don't wait until you're in the middle of a full episode. If you feel that early warning — the slight wooziness, the heaviness, the world starting to tilt — put the device on immediately. Catching it early gives you the best chance of stopping an episode before it takes over.
Never skip the gel
The VertiClear EMS Conductivity Gel is what unlocks the full power of the device. Without it, the EMS pulses can't travel through your skin at full strength — and you may feel little to nothing, or experience skin irritation. Apply a small amount to each of the four pads before every session. It takes about 30 seconds and makes all the difference.
Troubleshooting
This is almost always a conductivity issue. Make sure you've applied VertiClear EMS Conductivity Gel to each of the four pads before placing the device. Also check that no hair, clothing, or jewelry is between the pads and your skin. If everything looks good, try increasing the intensity — you may just be at too low a gear. Finally, check that the stainless steel pads are clean (wipe them with a damp cloth to remove any dried gel residue).
Lower the intensity immediately. This usually means there isn't enough gel on the pads. Remove the device, apply a fresh amount of VertiClear EMS Conductivity Gel to each pad, and try again at a lower gear. If the discomfort continues even at low intensity with gel properly applied, stop use and contact our support team.
The battery is likely drained. Plug it in and charge for at least 1 hour, then try again. Make sure the USB cable is fully seated in the charging port. If the device still won't turn on after a full charge, contact us for a free replacement.
This can happen if the intensity is too high for your first few sessions. Your neck muscles and nerves need time to adjust. Next time, start at Gear 1–2 and stay there for the full session. Gradually increase over several days. If dizziness persists, try switching to a gentler mode like Massage or Automatic.
The arms of the device have some flexibility. Try adjusting the angle so the pads sit flat against your skin, especially the two behind your ears. You can gently press the arms together for a tighter fit. If the device genuinely doesn't fit your neck comfortably, you're covered under our 60-day guarantee — contact us and we'll arrange a return.
Yes. VertiClear EMS Conductivity Gel is available at shopverticlear.com. We recommend keeping a spare tube on hand so you're never without it before a session. In a pinch, a thin layer of aloe vera gel can be used as a temporary substitute, but the VertiClear gel is specifically formulated for EMS use and will always give you the best results.
Wipe the stainless steel pads with a damp cloth after each use to remove any gel residue. Keep the device dry — never submerge it in water. Store it in a cool, dry place.
